SELF-HOSTED INFRASTRUCTURE
WillypOS
A personal Linux infrastructure project focused on server administration, live system monitoring, secure remote access, and web application development.
System Monitoring Dashboard
I developed a custom web dashboard to monitor my Ubuntu Linux server. The dashboard displays live system information, including CPU usage, memory usage, disk usage, CPU temperature, server uptime, and connection status.
How It Works
WillypOS uses a Python backend built with Flask to collect system performance information. The frontend uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to request and display updated metrics.
Nginx serves the website and proxies requests to the backend API. The application runs on my self-hosted Ubuntu Server environment.
Security & Remote Access
I configured Tailscale for private remote access to the server and management dashboard. I also configured firewall rules to restrict incoming connections and keep management services off the public internet.
Custom Web Interface
I designed the WillypOS interface with a custom welcome screen, sidebar navigation, and responsive monitoring cards. The goal is to gradually expand it into a personal infrastructure management console.
Ongoing Development
WillypOS is an ongoing personal project. Planned improvements include expanded system performance monitoring, security event analysis, backup management, and website monitoring.
